About Our Community

Hangul Playground Community is a space where learners from over 50 countries share their progress, exchange practical tips for memorizing Hangul characters, and post questions when they get stuck. It is a free, public board — sign in with email or a social account to post, comment, and like. Bring your study notes, ask about pronunciation, or celebrate a new milestone — every voice helps the next learner.

How to Use the Board

Sign in to post a question, share a Hangul tip, or react with a like — anonymous posting is not enabled to keep the space friendly.

Use the search box to find existing answers before posting — duplicate questions often have great answers buried in the feed.

Keep posts on-topic (Hangul, Korean culture, study habits). Avoid personal information and respect every learner's level.

Community Guidelines

Everything here is written by learners, so a few shared habits keep it useful for the next person who arrives.

Write posts that someone could answer.

"How do I remember ㅅ and ㅈ?" gives people something to work with. "Korean is hard" does not. If you are stuck on a specific letter, word, or sentence, say which one.

Search before you post.

The board keeps every thread, and duplicate questions often already have thoughtful answers a few pages down. The search box at the top covers titles and content.

Answer at the level the asker is at.

Someone on week one does not need irregular verb conjugation. Meeting people where they are is most of what makes a learning community work.

Keep personal details out.

No phone numbers, addresses, workplaces, messenger IDs, or school names — yours or anyone else's. This is a public page indexed by search engines.

Stay on topic.

Hangul, the Korean language, Korean culture, and study habits all belong here. Promotion, politics, and content unrelated to learning do not.

Korea Snap: What to Share

Korea Snap is the photo side of the community — moments from studying in Korea or visiting it, with a short story attached.

Photos of other people need their agreement.

A crowd in a street scene is fine. A close-up of a stranger's face is not, unless you asked. The same goes for anyone visible in a group photo you did not take yourself.

Share photos you took.

Photos you took yourself are what this space is for. Screenshots from dramas, album covers, and images from other sites belong to someone else, so please share your own instead.

Check the background before uploading.

Name tags, receipts, dormitory door numbers, and boarding passes reveal more than people expect.

Format: up to four photos per post, each under 10MB before upload. Everything is automatically resized to 1920px and converted to WebP, so uploads stay fast on slow connections and you do not need to compress anything yourself. Captions run to 250 characters and the optional location field to 50.

Moderation and Reporting

Every post, comment, snap, and snap comment has a report button. If something looks wrong, use it rather than replying to it — replies push the content further up the feed.

Reports arrive in a moderation queue in real time. Content that shares personal information, harasses another learner, or has nothing to do with learning Hangul is removed by moderators.

You can always edit or delete your own posts. Open the post and the controls appear if it belongs to you.

If you try to post several times in quick succession, you may be asked to wait a few seconds. That is an automatic spam guard rather than a penalty — it exists so a single script cannot flood the board — and normal posting never runs into it.
